About

I am Dr. Joseph Anthony Prathap (Senior Member, IEEE), a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Biocomputing and Developmental Systems (BDS) Group at Lero — the Research Ireland Centre for Software, located at the University of Limerick.

With 23 years of dedicated service across university teaching and academic research, my work specializes in bridging the gap between FPGA-based digital controllers and evolutionary computing, with a core focus on hardware-software co-design.

Originally from Pondicherry, India, I earned my B.E. in Electronics and Communication in 2003, followed by an M.Tech. in VLSI Design in 2007. I completed my Ph.D. at Annamalai University in 2017, where my research centered heavily on renewable PV sources and power electronics. Before moving to Ireland, I expanded my international research profile as a Postdoctoral Researcher at City St George’s, University of London, UK from 2023 to 2024.
