Gauri Vaidya is a final-year Ph.D. student in Data Science at Biocomputing and Developmental System Group (BDS) in the Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) department, University of Limerick funded under The SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence. She is supervised by Prof Conor Ryan and Dr. Meghana Kshirsagar. Her PhD involves extracting optimal hyperparameter configurations for optimizing resource utilization and uses a machine learning tool, Grammatical Evolution. She has contributed as a TA on multiple modules such as CS4221 - Foundations in Computer Science, CS4222 - Software Development, CS4116 - Web Development, CS4207 - Advanced Programming Concepts and Practices and a moderator on CS6163 - Advanced Topics SEminars and Project Specification. She has published 10 research articles in renowned conferences and high impact journals. She is affiliated with Lero, Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, Culhane Lab and Limerick Digital Cancer Research Centre affiliated with the School of Medicine. She was part of the team of six that won first prize in Smart India Hackathon 2019. She was winner in Thesis-in-Three at Faculty Heat, Science and Engineering Department 2023. She contributed as an academic collaborator to a team that was successful in securing funding from Science Foundation Ireland National Challenge Fund for the project titled "ALTER: Unleashing the Power of AI and Digital Twins in Emergency Care". She is currently supervising an Final Year Project at CSIS department, University of Limerick. She manages the BDS website and departmental high performance computing Nvidia A100 GPU servers. She has secured travel grants on multiple occasions to present her research work. She holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, and has prior research and industry experience. She has served as a reviewer in multiple conferences and has conducted workshops in web development and Python programming during National Science Week Ireland in secondary schools. She is passionate about applying Machine Learning and Deep Learning approaches to solve complex problems and she is highly proficient in blockchain technologies.
